Gymnastics classes are based on a progression learning system, emphasizing safety and success while having fun. Your athlete will be guided through step by step skill progressions and specific drills/exercises, providing the opportunity to effectively achieve and refine gymnastics skills, while progressing from beginner to advanced levels. Athletes will be working on all Olympic events/equipment: Floor Exercise, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Vault. Further, they will use Trampolines, Foam Pits, Spring Floors and a large variety of small specialized equipment. Our objectives for your athlete are to learn proper gymnastics skills safely, and increase strength, flexibility, coordination, and fitness levels. Our goal for your child is to become a hard working, self-confident and healthy individual.
At Gold medal Gyms or preschool gymnastics classes stimulate imaginative play and exercise. Our staff begins each class with an opening activity designed to facilitate participation and creative movement. Once their muscles are warm the coaches assist the athletes through a series of obstacle courses. Each obstacle course provides a variety of motor skills, exercises and gymnastics skills for the class to work through and master, all the while making it fun and entertaining.
Parent Child Gymnastics
From infant to toddler, the Gold Medal Gyms Parent/Child classes promote early development and provide a strong foundation for your young athlete’s critical first three years. Weekly classes will help your child achieve new milestones and prepare for more advanced challenges during each stage of growth. And since your are along for the ride, you’ll be able to celebrate every discovery with smiles, hugs and a Parent/Child bond that cannot be equaled.
Gold Medal Gyms gymnastics programs are designed for children or athletes that want to learn basic skills, while keeping fit, building strength, and improving flexibility – but are not interested in gymnastics competition. Gold Medal Gyms offers recreational gymnastics classes and program to suit any age and skill level. Recreational Gymnast athletes use most of the same gymnastics equipment that our competition gymnasts use to train such as, the spring floor, balance beam, uneven bars, vault, pit, trampoline, and various types of mats.
Gymnasts are invited to be on the competition team based on the showing of advanced gymnastics skills and the devotion of learning and growing in the sport of gymnastics. Gymnasts will learn the necessary skills required for levels 4-10 as set out in the USA Gymnastics rules and guidelines. Routines will be taught according to level and each gymnast will have the opportunity to participate in competitions throughout the state of Missouri and others.
